THERE ARE STILL two games left tonight before the first week of the new NFL season is completely in the bag but it’s worth taking a look at some of the big plays from the first Sunday night action of the year.
Who needs a helmet?
As if being able to jump on top of your car from a standing start or catching touchdown passes despite being a defensive player wasn’t enough, JJ Watt showed last night that even the absence of a helmet wasn’t going to stop him.

Four fumbles on one play is not something to be proud of, but at least the addition of a comedy soundtrack brought us a rare highlight from what was dumpster fire of a game.

Hartline’s on fire…
Of course, all the attention in the Browns/Jets game was on the introduction of Johnny Football but one-handed catches are always worth including, especially when you’re kneeling on the ground making it.
It may have, ultimately, come in a losing effort, but Marshawn Lynch carried almost the entire Rams team on his shoulders on one of his first runs in last night’s game. Just a pity he couldn’t do it again on a one-yard run at the end, eh Seahawks fans?
As if to prove the childhood taunt that first is indeed the worst and second the best, the number two pick in this year’s NFL draft — Marcus Mariota — had himself a day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while the number one pick, Jameis Winston… well, he had something of a nightmare.
JJ Watt doesn't need a helmet and the best of the rest from week one of the NFL
